A CULTURAL AFTERNOON AT YOUTH HOME

Tamale Youth Home Cultural Group, a group of traditional drummers and

dancers, was founded in 1985. Since then the group has used Youth Home

for rehearsals, performances and teaching both visitors from other coun-

tries as well local people.

​

The visit includes lessons in drumming and dance as well as an introduc-

tion to the handicraft workshops, which produce drums, batik fabric, dres-

ses and traditional smocks.

​

A spectacular performance with fantastic costumes and authentic Dagom-

ba music and dance closes the visit.

​

If you want to stay, we can provide you with food and drinks from the near-

by “spot” and high-life music from a local orchestra.
